Sharon Durnin – Administrator of Preston Place II
Sharon joined Preston Place in 2003 and is the Administrator of Preston Place II, which opened in April 2007. She has over 17 years of experience in working with Alzheimer’s and other related dementias.
Sharon is a Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer. She trains all employees at Preston Place II and assists them in becoming Certified Dementia Practitioners, which provides a standard of excellence in care based on years of research and experience.
Sharon’s passion is not only for the care of each resident but also in educating their caregivers on the best practices for tailoring care to meet individual needs, while maintaining their dignity and respect. She facilitates a monthly caregiver’s support group in our community and oversees the Alzheimer’s Community Resource Center. Sharon also organizes our annual Alzheimer’s Caregiver Conference and is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Kingsport.
