To understand who we are, you need to start at the beginning…

Preston Place Suites originated in 1997 through a son’s love for his father. His dad was a recent widower, needing more attention and care from his family. After surveying the area, the care the son was looking for could not be found.

The son, along with two fellow community members, recognized that Kingsport had a need, which could be created by designing a quality care facility for area seniors. The three investors bought land, and Preston Place was built. We opened in the fall of 1998 with room for 24 residents. Within a year, we broke ground with a new addition, making room for 24 more residents and also adding our beautiful large activity room.

Our facility flourished… While many other assisted living facilities were built throughout the Kingsport area, Preston Place remained unique. The needs of our residents have always guided us when decisions of expansion were made, and being privately owned has always nurtured our growth.

In late 2005, the specific needs of our residents with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia took the lead for our next expansion of a secured facility. Land adjacent to Preston Place was purchased, and Preston Place II was built as the first stand-alone, privately owned, secured assisted living facility in the state of Tennessee for residents with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

In the spring of 2007, another group of local, private investors led by Dr. Jerry Miller began building an assisted living facility in west Kingsport, The Village at Allandale. They shared our same beliefs and vision in esteeming the seniors in our community with the absolute best care to offer. This led to the merged ownership of Preston Place and The Village at Allandale as well as sharing the common bond that ties us: unconditional care and respect for the elders of our community.

Through our years of growth, our focus has never changed. You will be proud to share our home, and we are honored for you to join us in our journey.
